How to Choose the Best Cannabis Dispensary Near You
Not all dispensaries are the same. To pick the right one near you, compare licensing, product selection, and convenience. Here's a quick breakdown of what to look for:
| Factor | Why It Matters | What to Check |
|---|---|---|
| License | A licensed dispensary follows state rules and tests products. | Ask to see the license or look for the OCM license number on the website. |
| Location & hours | You want a place that's easy to get to and open when you need it. | Check the address, parking, and hours before you go. |
| Product selection | Different needs call for different products—flower, edibles, vapes, etc. | Look for a menu that includes flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, tinctures, and concentrates. |
| Online ordering | Ordering ahead saves time and ensures what you want is in stock. | See if the dispensary offers online ordering for pickup or delivery. |
| Reviews | Real customer feedback gives you a sense of quality and service. | Check sites like Weedmaps or Leafly for ratings and comments. |
BX Buddiez checks these boxes: we're licensed (OCM-CAURD-25-000297), located in the Bronx, open daily, and offer online ordering and delivery. If you're comparing options, start with the license and location—then look at the menu.

Recreational vs. Medical: Do You Need a Card?
In New York, you don't need a medical card to buy recreational cannabis from a licensed dispensary. Here's what you need to know:
- Recreational is legal for 21+ – If you're 21 or older, you can walk into BX Buddiez and buy cannabis with just a valid ID.
- Medical card is optional – A medical marijuana card can offer benefits like higher purchase limits or lower taxes, but it's not required for purchase.
- Bring valid ID – You'll need a government-issued ID showing your age. Out-of-state visitors with valid ID are welcome.
- Know the legal limits – New York allows up to 3 ounces of flower and 24 grams of concentrates per day.
- Delivery is available – Even if you can't visit, you can order online and get delivery across NYC.
If you're wondering about the medical route, check out our medical marijuana dispensary in NY page for more details.

What to Expect at a Cannabis Dispensary: Products and More
A cannabis dispensary is a licensed store where you can buy cannabis products legally. Unlike a street deal, a dispensary offers tested, regulated products and professional guidance. At BX Buddiez, you'll find a range of options: flower (the traditional bud), pre-rolls (ready-to-smoke joints), vapes (cartridges and pens), edibles (gummies, chocolates, drinks), tinctures (liquid extracts), concentrates (wax, shatter, oils), and accessories (grinders, pipes, rolling papers).
If you're new, a budtender can explain the differences between THC and CBD products, help you choose a strain, and guide you on dosing. You don't need to know everything before you walk in—just bring your ID and ask questions.
